Thanks for the memories, Cedar Point: Readers recall their favorite park moments

Surprised + delighted to be included in The Plain Dealer’s 150th Anniversary article! Yep, that’s me hustling with heart on commission to earn + pay my way through college. What a wonderful lesson in hard work + honing your craft on your early creative career path. My section begins with ”When I was a sophomore in college…” Hint, look for the incredible 1904 Sea Swing photo in Lake Erie! (🎡vintage photo credits: Cedar Point. “Like a cheesy technicolor made-for-TV movie, it was the perfect summer job. Hypnotized by piped in carnival music and swirling smells of cotton candy, popcorn, funnel cakes laced with sunscreen, we were living the dream, stuck in a Candy Land board game – only better. With roller coasters. And we got paid. Not much. But you know what the main perk was that made it all worth it? High-tailing it into the park for free anytime we wanted to ride, ride, ride.”
